Written by: Sithandwa NgwetsheniNonkululeko Britton

The fire in Knysna is the largest and most destructive fire in a built up area in the Western Cape, and has left thousands of residents displaced.

Up to 20 suburbs have been affected, with an estimated 10 000 people evacuated in Knysna by this morning.

For those wanting to assist, donation points have been opened and various organisations have started collecting for the people of Knysna.

Monetary contributions can be deposited into the Gift of the Givers bank account to help the people of Knysna.
