Written by: diannem

Award-winning Kiara Nirghim , who developed a drought prevention invention, chatted to Relebogile Mabotja this morning, about the upcoming #Changemakers17 and what she thinks we can achieve as a society if we invest in science from a young age!

"I really believe that science has a pivotal role in changing South Africa and if we can get students at a young age to pursue science and really come up with stuff that is going to innovate and change society, that;s one of the best things that I can inspire in young children."

Kiara Nirghin, Teen award-winning scientist and Changemaker

"I like to think of science as something that you persevere through; I didn't come up with the idea on the first try, or the second try, I really had to put a lot of time and efforts over months."

Kiara Nirghin, Teen award-winning scientist and Changemaker

"I am so proud to be speaking alongside such wonderful speakers, at such a young age to be surrounded by such Change making South Africans, I feel its the accolade I am so thankful for!"
