South African tennis champ Kevin Anderson's mother Barbara says they are thrilled he has made it to the US Open semi-finals.

It's so big, it's almost indescribable. I think our emotions were the same as Kevins...lost for words. It's made everything so worthwhile.

She says they spoke after the match, 5 am in the USA, and says they chat on WhatsApp all the time.

He was really so excited and so thrilled.

The match takes place on Friday night at 10 pm South African time.
