NATION BUILDER TOP TIP – Support local NPOs over the Christmas season

Written by: diannem

It is surreal that the year is almost at its end. The Christmas trees are up, carols are playing in the shops and all the year-end festivities are filling up our diaries.

Christmas is such a magical time, and is the one time in the year when most of South Africa gets to take a well needed break before the start of another eventful year. There are, however, many people who don’t share this excitement over the festive season. Some of these people include contract workers who are forced to take unpaid leave, and families who rely on schools or other organisations, for daily meals who often go without during this season of closure.

The festive season is known as a time for giving, and many businesses and individuals are reaching out to organisations who will stand in the gap over this season, to support and contribute towards a sustained supply of meals, shelter and gifts to make the Christmas holiday a joy-filled one.

If you or your business would like to add some ‘Christmas cheer’ to others in your province this December, Nation Builder have put together a list of ways in which you can get involved with local organisations who are playing a massive role in building positive futures for many South Africans.
