10 Year-old to swim Robben Island Channel for charity
This January, 10-year-old Abriella Bredell will attempt to be the youngest person to swim the Robben Island Channel. She will swim from Robben Island to Blouberg to raise money for the Red Cross Children's hospital.
Abriella's coach Brenton Williams says that Abriella has already done incredible swims in her life.
She's done amazing things already. She has done a couple of real cold water swims in Cape Town, including a Clifton too Three Anchor Bay swim about a month ago. That was in 12 degree water.— Brenton Williams, Swim Coach
For Abriella, the reason for attempting this incredible swim is to help the ICU unit of the Red Cross Children's hospital.
I want to help them because I know that what ever I donate and whatever people donate - that will go to a good cause. And people will help them save lives.— Abriella Bredell, Swimmer
Abriella has already raised R71 000 for her swim and donations are still open. You can donate towards her swim here.
