Manenberg man gets his smile back and can finally take a selfie

Stephen Hugo finally gets to to smile again!

The Manenberg man lost his smile after suffering from gum disease which not only robbed him of his teeth and smile, but also of his dignity and confidence.

A Cape Town based water conservation group, Water Shedding Cape Town, where he would post inspirational image every day of Table Mountain shot from his Manenberg home window, rallied behind him to give him a second chance.

He speaks to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies about his dentist appointment and finally getting dentures fitted for the very first time.

Yesterday was my big day. I went to the dentist and got my dentures which fitted like a glove.

I am trying to get over the euphoria of yesterday. This is a new me, a new smile... I am grateful to everyone who sent me a kind word and made donations towards a new me.
