BabyYumYum added smiles to the children from Hotel Hope Ministries in celebration of Gingerbread House Day.

The team of BabyYumYum, an online parenting portal, together with the BabyYumYumBear, Banjo, treated orphaned children from Melville-based Hotel Hope Ministries to a fun outing, to see the gingerbread houses in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel in Sandton.

Gingerbread House Day is a holiday celebrated mainly in the United States and some countries in Europe.

Families gather together to make a variety of gingerbread houses in honour of the day.

The tradition recently adopted by some South Africans dates back to 1800s Germany.

In the spirit of the holiday season, we wanted to bring extra joy to the children at the Hotel Hope Ministries who have been orphaned or abandoned.

Our bear is known to bring much laughter and love to children and adults alike,” says Amanda. “The kids loved Banjo and we loved the kids. It was a wonderful way to start the holiday season, seeing their happy smiles and knowing that we played a part in making this time special for them.
