The Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital Trust has launched a fundraising campaign to help raise money towards providing world-class pediatric care.
The Children’s Hospital Trust, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has helped countless ill and injured children at The Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and other pediatric units across the Western Cape.
The Trust's CEO Louise Driver explains that money raised is dedicated to providing improved medical training, state-of-the-art equipment, research programmes and building projects.
The fundraising campaign is titled 'Leave Your Mark' and aims to raise R150 million in the next two years through various donors.
Driver says some of the funds will be used to upgrade the hospital's emergency centre and consulting and procedure rooms to match the standard of the world-class facility.
The Trust has invited contributions from all donors who are willing to help, from schools and clubs, to community groups, individuals and corporate SA.

Webber lost his son after the boy fell into a bucket of water during the drought.
While he was being treated at the hospital, he says hospital staff - from the cleaners to the doctors - treated his son with the utmost care and compassion.
