Written by: Matshepo Sehloho

In October, 702 Breakfast put under the spotlight on the plight of Sandown High School, a school in the middle of Africa's richest square mile which was struggling to keep its doors open.

At the broadcast, the school received over R100,000 in pledges and several businesses offered to help the school to refurbish its swimming pool and to do other maintenance work.

The high school has entered into partnerships with the Italian Soccer Academy and Worldwide Scholarships, who will help revamp the school's sports facilities.

Bongani Bingwa chats to the school principal Makasane Mzamani.

The pupils are excited and looking forward to 2020 and they are all proud of being part of the school. Italian Soccer Academy and Worldwide Scholarships have partnered with our school and this partnership will be launched officially on Friday.
